Lola's Emergency Vet Visit

Lola had a bad day Saturday, starting at 6:00 AM in the morning. Long story short, we took a trip to the Emergency vet, got some x-rays, and found something making its way through her digestive tract. She was forced to fast last night, and was given some meds to help her with her upset stomach. Oh, and they injected 1 liter of fluids to avoid dehydration. Which brings us to the pictures of Lola's impression of a camel. Yes she's horribly uncomfortable and sad in the pictures, but she feels better and is back to her bubbly happy self.

This is how Lola woke us up this morning. It wasn't the first time, but it was one of the best. Fortunately, my cell phone was on the night stand and we got a quick capture of it.

Destructo Lola

So at the request of a few, I suppose I will start to add a little content to the page. Since we haven't up to this point let me give a little review of what is going on.

Here is the rundown:

• I am starting PA school a week from today
• Ryan got a job in the Ft. Worth area last Wednesday
• We found a place to rent Saturday, and officially got the place yesterday
• We are moving this Saturday (yes that is 4 days from now)

Needless to say life is a little crazy right now, good, but crazy. A week ago I thought I was going to be stuck (sorry, mom) living with my parents and commuting up to Ft. Worth and now, who would have thought, Ryan and I will be moving up together and starting our respective job and school the same day. Pretty exciting.

So, let the packing begin. Last night my good friend L* and I went dumpster diving for boxes. No worries they are recycling dumpsters, so no crazy trash to dig through. It was like hitting the moving supply mother load, as many boxes as you wanted all there for the taking. The best part - they were FREE! Next stop HEB where we stole every free Jobfinder, Senior Advocate, and Greensheet we could lay our hands on (well almost all, we left a few copies of each). Talk about great dish packing material, and again FREE!


Anyway, so today the major packing will start and let me just say Lola is protesting. I left the house for a nutritious lunch with Ryan and his coworkers at Double Dave's not paying any mind to the flattened boxes I had resting against the wall. I figured, hey she didn't give them so much as a sniff all morning why would she start now?! Logical right, well let me just say that when I got home Lola had left me a little present of shredded boxes and packing supplies. Boy was she proud of herself! If only she knew how awesome she is going to have it when we move into the new place. Not only will she have a backyard, but she will have daily access to the dogpark that backs up to our place. It will be pretty great!

Well I better get to it, I promised Ryan the kitchen would be packed today. I have got a few more hours, how hard could it be! :)
